Addiction & Recovery Support

Addiction doesn't always look the way people expect. It can feel like:

  • Using substances or behaviors to numb pain, anxiety, or feelings you don't know how to sit with.
  • Promising yourself "just this once" and finding yourself back in the same place again.
  • Shame and secrecy that keep you isolated from the people who care about you.
  • Feeling like you've tried to stop before and failed, and wondering if something is permanently broken in you.
  • Losing relationships, opportunities, or your sense of self, and not knowing how to find your way back.

In clinical terms, you might be experiencing:

Substance Use Disorder
A pattern of use that causes significant impairment or distress, affecting your health, relationships, and daily functioning.
Behavioral Addiction
Compulsive engagement with behaviors like gambling, gaming, or food that activate the same reward pathways as substances.
Co-occurring Disorders
Addiction and mental health conditions like depression, anxiety, or trauma very often go hand in hand, and treating one without the other rarely works.
The Shame Cycle
Shame is one of the biggest drivers of continued use. Therapy helps break that cycle by creating a space of radical honesty and zero judgment.

Our approach is collaborative. Our work will include:

Understanding Your Why
Exploring what needs the addiction has been meeting, and finding healthier ways to meet them.
Motivational Interviewing
A gentle, non-confrontational approach to help you clarify your own values and strengthen your motivation for change.
CBT for Addiction
Identifying triggers, challenging distorted thinking, and building concrete coping strategies for high-risk moments.
Relapse Prevention Planning
Creating a realistic, personalized plan so that if you stumble, it doesn't have to become a fall.
Healing the Underlying Pain
Addressing the trauma, anxiety, or depression that often fuel addictive patterns in the first place.
A Little Something to Help You Now: The HALT Check-In
When a craving or urge hits, pause before you act. Ask yourself four simple questions: Am I Hungry? Am I Angry? Am I Lonely? Am I Tired? Often what feels like an urge is actually an unmet need in disguise. Name the need, then find a healthier way to meet it. This simple check-in can interrupt the cycle before it starts.
